TechEd 2012 Day 3

It's hard to believe that there's only one more day for TechEd 2012. I've said it before and I'll say it again, it's been a crazy week.

Those was no keynote for Day 3 so it was right into a breakout session. The session was called IPv6 (Hard)Core Networking Services. After going over the basics of IPv6, the speaker went into some detail about the IPv6 packet and how it works in the network. Along with some new information, I also got to confirm that I know a bit more than I thought about IPv6.

After that session, I went right down to do an Hands on Lab that I heard about in the session. I wanted to get to it while everything was still in my head. It was setting up IPAM in Windows Server.

After eating lunch I wandered around the Tech Expo and talked with some vendors. Then it was time for another breakout session.

This session was called Windows 8 DEMO. That's pretty much what it was. There was no sales pitch though so it was nice to see some of the features of Windows 8. The more I get used to it, the less I hate it. I still have a few more questions I want to get answered though.

By this time my mind needed a little break so I went and stuffed some bags for the children's hospital. This is actually a neat opportunity to give back to the community. On Sunday I was able to paint a picture that will hang as part of a mural that will hang in children's hospitals.

With my mind back together, I went to the last session of the day. The session had the clever title How Many Cups of Coffee Can You Drink While Windows 7 Boots. Stephen Rose and others tell us how Microsoft has addressed slow boots. It's great to get an inside look at this info from the guys that do it everyday.

There's one more day left. I'm excited to see what this holds for me.
