No Longer a Fatty... McButterpants

What is it that has brought me out of blogging semi-retirement? This first post of the year is due to me reaching a pretty big milestone. After a long, kinda hard journey, I've lost 79 pounds and went below my first big weight goal of 220lbs. A lot of people asked me how I've done it so I thought I would tell my story and possibly encourage a person or two.

Tired of Being Fat

My weight problem really started eight days before my wedding day. I rode a ladder from the top of a house as it crashed to the ground and shattered my left ankle pretty good. I walked down the aisle with a cast and crutches and rode a wheel chair for a good six weeks or longer. Though my activity pretty much stopped my eating didn't change and I gained weight fast.

Flash forward 16 years and I was still carrying around way too much weight after trying many programs, diets and exercises. In my heart I was resigned to living the rest of my life as a fat guy. I couldn't imagine being down to a healthy weight. That goal seemed impossible. Nothing seemed to work.

On the local Christian station, WMUZ, there was a commercial constantly playing about Custom Weight Loss. They tailor a plan to fit each individual and promise you will lose 25 to 40 pounds in 40 days. I figured I didn't have anything to lose
